How Tuning Into the Right Energy Can Make Your Holidays Happier
There’s probably no better time for Guru Tips than during the holidays. This can be a crazy time of year in terms of energy, so if you understand and work with that energy, the holidays can be more than merry, they can be meaningful.
If you read our Guru Tips, you already know everything in your life manifests from energy. Even something conceptual like a holiday or a holiday season has its own energy. That’s right, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Shop till You Drop, is all a bunch of vibrating energy. And it’s interacting with your energy, which is what makes you like or dislike it.
Some people think the holidays are great. They love the parties, the gifting, the spiritual aspect, the time off work. Others think the holidays are not so great. They dislike the commercialism, the pressure, the family time, or the religious aspect. For most of us it’s probably a little of both.
How does this relate to your life? The holidays are made of many levels of energy – from the commercialism all the way up to the spiritual. How you relate to and feel about the holidays is a reflection of the level of the energy you’re tuning into. You have complete freedom to tune into any level of the energy you desire to. It’s totally up to you.

If you focus your attention and intention on the aspect of the holiday energy that resonates with you, you’ll be as happy as a kid on Christmas morning. And you can ignore the rest.
Love the family time but hate the commercialism? Love the spiritual aspect but hate the parties and gifting? Just savor the love part and ignore the hate part. (That works for everything in life BTW, not just the holidays.)
Focus your energy on what resonates with you. Focusing your energy means holding it in your thoughts, connecting to it with your heart, letting it pour into your soul.

Christmas energy
Christmas is about a beautiful young child being born to a beautiful pious woman and coming into this world to spread the Good Word. This child grows up to send love and light to all beings that he comes into contact with. And his love and light was so deep and bright that 2000 years later it’s still warming hearts and lifting souls.
His message is about love, and love is the current of Life Force Energy, meaning it’s the current of life. It’s about love for your family, for your neighbor, and for complete strangers. For animals and plants and this beautiful Mother Earth upon whom we live. It’s about filling your life with love so that you resonate with the Divine, thereby finding eternal bliss in this life and beyond.
Now that’s beautiful. It doesn’t matter if you’re religious or an atheist, a Christian or a Muslim. It doesn’t matter if you take the Bible literally or symbolically, or don’t take it all. Just focus on the beautiful energy of the story, and let it resonate with your energy. A very special, divine human being is born and dedicates his life to uplifting humankind – that’s inspiring and heartwarming…
Hanukkah energy
Hanukkah is about a group of spiritually oriented people reclaiming their homeland after having been driven out of it years earlier. It is about a community coming together to celebrate their faith and their joy in being reunited with the land they love.
Hanukkah is also about a miracle. When they reclaimed their Holy Temple in Jerusalem, they found only enough oil to burn their Menorah for one day, but miraculously the oil lasted for eight days. And how do miracles happen? They manifest from Life Force Energy, for at the level of energy anything is possible. Faith and intention (aka prayer) influences energy, and when it’s coming from a positive place of love and light and is aligned with the Universe, anything is possible.
Kwanzaa energy
Kwanzaa is a celebration of family, community, and culture celebrated by millions throughout the world’s African community. As stated on the official Kwanzaa website:
“During the holiday, families and communities organize activities around the Nguzo Saba (The Seven Principles): Umoja (Unity), Kujichagulia (Self-Determination), Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility), Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics), Nia (Purpose), Kuumba (Creativity) and lmani (Faith). Participants also celebrate with feasts (karamu), music, dance, poetry, narratives and end the holiday with a day dedicated to reflection and recommitment to The Seven Principles and other central cultural values.”
What’s not to love about those seven principles, not to mention feasts, music, dance, poetry, and inspiring narratives? This is a holiday clearly aligned with the Life Force Energy - in other words with love and light and unity.
Tune into the energy you want more of and forget the rest
You can contemplate those three beautiful holidays and let their positive energy merge into your energy. Your energy shapes your life, so focus it on the highest and best energy that this beautiful holiday season has to offer. And forget the rest. It’s not difficult at all, just use your attention and intention to tune into the aspects of the holidays that resonate with you.
