4 things to remember when you aren't getting what you want.
Waaaaaay back in 1969, before 'manifesting' was a trending topic, The Rolling Stones released a hit song that got it right:
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want

But if you try sometimes, well, you just might find
You get what you need
Turns out they knew a thing or two because let’s face it -- sometimes you just don’t get what you want, no matter how hard you tried, prayed, begged, or how great your vision board was. And yes… it can feel deeply disappointing. Especially if you’re tuned into the manifestation circles where “wish for it and it will come” is regularly touted.
The truth is… what we want isn’t always in our best interest. It may seem like it is, but if it’s not coming to you naturally then you can rest assured it isn’t right for you right now.
That’s good news! Because I’d much rather not get what’s not right for me than have to spackle the cracks of the damage caused by something I forced into my life.
Force can be a red-flag.
Force can be problematic when you’re using it as a strategy to make things happen according to your ego’s desires instead of your soul’s desires or that of the Highest Good. When force is used incorrectly the outcome is generally painful. How do you know if you’re bringing the wrong things into your life? You’re forcing it.
A good rule of thumb for those who want to work with Life Force Energy (instead of against it) is when you start feeling anxious, afraid, worried, and neurotic about things going a certain way… you need to let go. This is also known as surrender.

In other words, surrender is your superpower.
Power is better than force.
Power. Now there’s a juicy word! When you let go of control and let Life Force Energy do all the heavy lifting to organize and bring you what’s perfect for you right now, you attract the right things at the right time. Things happen more easily, with less effort and more joy. And that’s when you start to feel powerful – when you and the Universe are working together in harmony.
You see… the power at work in the Universe, Life Force Energy, is concerned about one thing - evolving you to a higher state of being. So you can trust that when you set your intentions and offer those intentions to the Universe / your Higher Power / God, you can then let go of the outcome because what happens next will be the right thing for you right now. Heck… it might even be way better than what you imagined!
It’s perfectly safe to let go and surrender your desires to the Universe. Because when you’re in tune with Life Force Energy you can trust that if it doesn’t come, it’s just as much of a gift as if it does.

- The Universe supports the desires that come from your Soul, or your highest Self.
- The Universe may not support the desires that come from your ego which generally looks to fill a need out of fear and lack.
- If it’s relevant or aligned with the Highest Good… it will come.
- If you don’t get what you want, maybe you’re getting rerouted to what you need. (Cue Rolling Stones)
