The energy-shifting Abundance Prayer
For anyone on a self-development journey, or walking a spiritual path, or just looking for some inner peace, prayer can be so helpful. There's something very comforting in knowing you're not in control of the Universe... that there's a loving energy, or force, or being, you can connect with and rely on. Prayer is just that - a way to connect with someone/something bigger than you.
I believe in the power of prayer. (I also believe in the power of meditation, intentions, and kindness.) What I've come to realize is that prayer is an energetic practice - it's an energy shifter. But prayer hasn't always been easy for me. I suppose it comes from my religious upbringing and since I now consider myself spiritual rather than religious, I'm not really sure how to pray.
So when I came across the Abundance Prayer by Tosha Silver, I felt immediately intrigued. This prayer is about surrendering to the Highest Good, or Divine Beloved, as Tosha Silver calls it. It's about getting into the flow and living fully from Divine Abundance which means receiving AND giving. It's about releasing the notion and subsequent energetic blockages that come when we feel we are the ones in control.
This prayer, unlike the prayers I used to say, is not about giving God your laundry list of things you want Him to do for you. No, this prayer is about getting out of the way - energetically speaking - and letting the Divine have Her way.
I love this prayer. I call on this prayer a lot whenever I'm worried, scared, or stuck. Whenever I say even just parts of it I feel lighter and relieved. I've experienced the freeing power of it first-hand. I invite you to take if for a test-drive. If it resonates, great. If not, that's ok, too.

The author encourages people to write it down and keep it handy. I have mine written on a 3x5 notecard on my bedside table. Memorizing your favorite parts (or the whole thing) is a great idea, too!
