How to Bring Stillness into your life

Life is crazy and complicated for most of us – assuming you’re not a recluse living in a hermitage. When your life is crazy, your energy gets scattered. And when your energy gets scattered, it’s harder to connect with Life Force Energy and manifest the good things in life. So what can you do about that?

The good news is you don’t have to become a recluse and move to a hermitage.

There’s nothing wrong with a crazy and complicated life.

In fact it’s just the norm in our modern, fast-paced, technology-centered world. And a busy, hectic life often comes with wonderful things - like a successful career, raising a family, spending time with loved ones, traveling and seeing the world. All good stuff, and you don’t have to give it up to get your energy in order.

It is, however, important to find a way to bring some stillness into your life, as crazy and complicated as it may be. And we’re talking about stillness of the mind primarily. If your body is still it’s easier to still your mind, but it’s certainly possible to calm the mind when on the move.

As we mentioned in one of our recent posts, in the world of energy it’s a well-known rule that when your mind is running amok it blocks Life Force Energy from connecting with your energy.

In order to manifest the good things you want in your life you must be still and connect with Life Force Energy on a regular basis.

Why does your “monkey mind” with its stream of thoughts block Life Force Energy? In the world of spirituality, they say your energy channel to the Divine gets clogged by the random energy of your thoughts – because thoughts have energy just like everything else. So in order to open your channel to the Universe you need your head to be calm, which settles your energy so it can resonate with the energy coming through your channel.

It sounds a bit complicated, but it really isn’t. Here are a few ideas on how to do it:

1. Be Grateful

Take some time each day to count your blessings. You have sooo many things to be grateful for. From the food on your table to the connections you have with other beings. And your home, your belongings, your health… Just contemplate them, smile, and say thank you to the Universe. Just focus on this alone and redirect your mind back to it if you start thinking of something else.

2. Live in the Now

Once you’ve counted your blessings, take some time to just relax and appreciate them. Don’t think about what you don’t have, or what happened in the past, or what you might get in the future – that will scatter your energy to the wind. Think about how wonderful you have it right now. How the Universe has brought you everything you need – even if life is not perfect. Our culture teaches us to get hung up on the past and live for the future and focus on what we want, but if you can keep your attention on the beauty already in your life, your mind will settle and the energy will flow.

3. Focus on Your Connections

And by that we mean connections to other beings in your life. For example your friends, your family, your significant other, your pets. Don’t take them for granted, show them some love. That means surrendering to your heart. When your heart is giving, your mind is still. Positive emotions always trump the monkey mind. You can’t multi-task and dole out love. And it doesn’t have to be in person – in fact a great way to calm the mind is to simply close your eyes and send loving energy to someone. Anyone. Or everyone.

4. Meditate

Yes we’re big fans of meditation, especially the sitting still, navel gazing sort. It is THE best way to calm the mind. But you can meditate on the move as well. When taking a walk, when driving in the car, when doing the dishes – pay attention to what is happening in your mind. Try to watch it from a distance and see how random and crazy it is. Then you’ll recognize how it’s scattering your energy. And you won’t like it because it doesn’t feel good. Put a little effort into thinking about nothing. Or even about a beach or a forest or a loved one. Anything that’s calm and peaceful. And that you will like, because it feels good. With some practice you’ll get better and better at getting your mind into that state of stillness, where Life Force Energy can flow in. Which is why it feels so good…

5. Give your Body the Right Energy
